Worked on an as of yet unannounced project as sole programmer using Godot Engine in 2D developing for Android devices.

  • Designed systems using a “Signal Up, Call Down” approach, where each system could reference its child systems directly, and child systems would send Godot signals up to parent systems without needing knowledge of that parent's class contents. Used signal broadcaster scripts to send signals up to scenes outside the current scenes.

  • Took full advantage of the scene system within Godot engine, using subscenes to keep parent scenes tidy and to reuse scenes and subscenes modularly. Also utilized Godot’s animator to quickly prototype animations both of art assets and menus & layouts.

  • Took part in regular update showcases with the rest of the team, both for them to see the progression of their designs and art assets, but also so that improperly working systems could be identified and dealt with by myself early.
